Sunday Worship

Our aim in worship at CMC is to bring God pleasure as a community and to foster intimacy with Him through corporate worship. We understand that different people find different styles helpful in their journey with God and so try to facilitate that with a variety of Sunday services. We have three Sunday services at Claremont Methodist:

9am English Service & Junior Church

Here we worship God in a style that is a crossover between contemporary and traditional Methodist worship, with music by either an organist or a worship band. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.

11am Xhosa Service

This service is a traditional Xhosa service using the Umbedesho (Order of Morning Prayer). Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.

6pm English Evening Service

We have an informal time of worship led by a worship band. In addition to a Bible-based Sermon, we also include a time of prayer ministry in this service every week. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.

We hope that, if you’re ever in the area, you will join us to give glory and honour to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
